I’m sitting on my bed in the wee hours of a Sunday, sometime in February 2009. My evil plan to make my fat arse less fat is going very well. My life is good, my life is busy, and I like it.
This morning I went to the Farmers Market with my brother Will, my sister-in-law Rowan & my nephew Corin. Bought some more monkfish (been lovin it recently). Then we went to buy shoes for Corin. Turns out there are shops that sell shoes just for kids – who knew?
Spent the evening with my flatmate Mikey & his missus Amy. We ate the monkfish for dinner, then spent the night chatting and playing guitar. After a hectic week, it was ideal to just chill.
Was a wicked evening – chatted about all kinds of shit. I played a few new(ish) songs and it suddenly struck me that I’m finally able to fairly successfully write about the most important relationships in my life. I’ve always struggled with that – so it’s nice to be making some damn progress!
Anyway, the anti-fatness mission is going awesome. I was just short of 22 stone when I started – 21st 9lbs I think – and I’m now 19st 5lbs. I looked on some BMI calculator the other day and apparently I’ve moved from being severely obese (ultimate fatass) to obese (super fatass). I
still think that the term “morbidly obese” (morbese for short) is much funnier though.
Mates that I don’t see very often keep noticing that I’ve lost weight, which is always nice. I’m also starting to get quite excited about getting to a normal weight again – for example, Jim and Alex are going suit shopping soon – once I’ve got this weight shifted I definitely have to buy a new suit! Don’t get me wrong, I still won’t do up my top button or put on a tie unless I’m meeting with a client: uncomfortable clothes are a hugely backward concept.
If I remain as stubborn about this, I’m confident I can get under 14 stone by the end of 2009. I lost about 3 and a half stone in about 4 months one time at Uni, so anything’s possible. Once I’m done, the real challenge begins: keeping the weight off. It’s time to get my weight sorted permanently, and this time I will.
So here I am, listening to an assortment of beautiful music from my iPod on this Sunday. Hope everyone has a good one!

That boy is utterly stunning work!
Aside: Put some sort of background on the article text as grey on black is pretty hard to read!

Cheers mate! As you might've seen on Facebook, I've actually lost more than 6 stone now!
Thanks for the heads up re. the theme etc – think I must've been mashed when I half-arsed restyling my blog a month or 2 ago. I've set the theme to a generic one for now so that at least everything is readable!
I'm well shit at updating my blog, so I think I'm gonna switch to a status & video-cented homepage pretty soon, and just keep the blog entries in an archive.

And I just fixed the Facebook Connect functionality too. My geek skills have clearly been letting me down!
