A King’s Life

Playin out a different way from how I would’ve once thought
Playin out to a different crowd now, every time I play
Usual suspects to my left and right, accompany me in the spotlight
Showcasing all my thoughts here, this is my home, my stage

This is the life, that I’ve chosen
Using my time, molding the confines
Of a world I’m climbing, going high
Surpassing a place I once called mine
Now a king’s life couldn’t upgrade things for me

Laying all my foundations for the future me to stand on
Laying on the grass with my clan, on a sunny afternoon
On a weekday I’ll be found, in an office, with my backup plan
But the weekend’s mine, my plan, a guitar held in my hands

This is the life, that I’ve chosen
Using my time, molding the confines
Of a world I’m climbing, going high
Surpassing a place I once called mine
Now a king’s life couldn’t upgrade things for me
