If I had the power to change things here
I wouldn’t edit anything; I’d have to start again
With the basics, get my facts straight
I’d wanna change it all but I’d need to know
The foundations, were real
Not like this groundless system
Of mismatched vocabulary
So much has changed since this implementation
First came into play
Why can’t we try running this my way?
Everybody in control, always seems to have
Another plan, underneath
Playing out their way, never really what they say
How can we live another day?
Blind to their fallacy
I’m not saying I don’t need help
I need more than you know
Need everyone on board
Need to fix this together
We can work it out
Once you believe me you’ll understand
Now we’re all talking I think you should know
That the time’s come to realise
There’s only one truth in this life
All the answers are here to be found
If we stop pretending there’s more to this world
We’re ready to bite the bullet
Accept the things we see and get things done properly
All around the world they’re just like you and me
Can’t you see that it should be
This way we’ve got a chance
To make it all right
Put it back the way they’ll always say it had been
Someday forget the time when people just turned away
No-one should have to say
“Wish it could’ve been this way”
